About the Role

We're seeking an IT Analytics intern to help build and advance predictive modeling capabilities using Microsoft Fabric. In this role, you will apply your background in economics and data science to develop, test, and validate machine learning models that support business forecasting and data-driven decision-making.

In addition to supporting core IT Analytics processes, you will complete a structured capstone project designed to drive meaningful business impact.

This is an-onsite position 3 days a week based in Glen Allen, VA.

What You'll Do

  • Design and build predictive models within Microsoft Fabric, leveraging historical data to generate actionable forecasts (e.g., demand planning, sales trends, cost drivers).
  • Help establish MLOps pipelines for model versioning, automated retraining, and performance monitoring - laying the groundwork for scalable ML workflows.
  • Create visual analyses and dashboards to communicate model outputs and key findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support data preparation, feature engineering, and exploratory analysis across our Fabric lakehouse environment.
  • Complete and present a structured capstone project designed to drive meaningful business impact.

What We're Looking For

  • Data science, Data Analytics, Engineering or Mathematics Major with a strong foundation in statistical reasoning and quantitative analysis.
  • Familiarity with python and common ML libraries (pandas, scikit-learn, etc.)
  • Exposure to data visualization best practices
  • Curiosity about how ML intersects with business strategy and planning
