DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position provides front line support for the State Workers' Insurance Fund by assisting customers, gathering information, and helping resolve questions about policies, claims, and related processes. As a Clerical Assistant 3, you will perform the following duties:
- Customer Assistance: Handle calls from customers seeking information about applications, renewals, policy terms, claims, and related matters
- Information Lookup: Search software systems to locate account details and provide accurate answers and next steps
- Injury Reporting: Gather details on workplace injuries and enter information into the system to start the claim review process
- Status Updates: Record changes to claim status and inform the appropriate claims staff of new information
- Payment Questions: Help callers understand invoice amounts, fees, rate changes, and payment decisions
- Process Support: Identify workflow issues through customer interaction and raise concerns to supervisors for improvement

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Scranton. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Clerical Assistant 2; (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirement:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must demonstrate the ability to adhere to the values and ethics of the Department of Labor and Industry.
- You must demonstrate the ability to work with professionalism, discretion, and good work ethic.
- You must have solid written and verbal communication skills.
- You must show initiative and problem-solving skills.
