HDR is seeking a Communications Coordinator to support our valued client, the Florida Turnpike Enterprise (FTE), based in Pompano Beach, Florida. This position will require the individual to work in-office at the client's location five days a week. This role will support internal communications for Turnpike Operations, working closely with a team of Senior Communications Project Managers to coordinate communication efforts across multiple operational units. The position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, collaborative, and interested in supporting communication strategy within a fast-paced operations environment.
- Support intake, tracking, and prioritization of internal communication requests across Turnpike Operations teams.
- Coordinate with Senior Internal Communications Project Managers to assign tasks, track progress, and ensure timely delivery of communication products.
- Assist in the development of internal communication plans and materials that support operational initiatives and organizational alignment.
- Draft, edit, and format internal communication materials, including initiative briefings, issue summaries, and leadership updates.
- Attend coordination meetings, capture key discussion points, and help translate them into actionable communication items.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including operations staff and technical subject matter experts, to gather information and develop clear, concise messaging.
- Maintain organization of communication workflows, project tracking tools, and document repositories.
- Help ensure consistency and clarity of messaging across internal audiences.
- Support development of templates, processes, and tools to improve communication efficiency across the Operations program.
- Monitor internal communication needs and proactively identify gaps or opportunities for improved coordination.
- Coordinate logistics for internal meetings, workshops, and engagement activities as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Previous coordinator experience
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Service- and client-oriented personality with the ability to handle multiple assignments at a time and meet set deadlines
- Self-starter who can work well independently or in a team environment
- Experience using social networking/social media programs
- Attention to detail
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
