Data Analytics Developer II Job No: 558037 Work Type: Staff Location: Central California: Fresno Categories: Bargaining Unit: Unit 9 - CSUEU - Technical Support Services, Appointment Type: Probationary, Time Basis: Full Time, Job Search Category/Discipline: Information Systems & Technology Data Analytics Developer II Compensation and Benefits Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $6,492 (step 1) to $7,027 (step 5) per month Full CSU Classification Salary Range: $6,492 to $9,458 per month This is a full-time, probationary, exempt position. Positions at Fresno State are to perform their work onsite. Some positions, depending upon University needs and operations, may be eligible for remote work, one day per week, pursuant to Fresno State's remote work guidelines and the CSU policy. The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 15 paid holidays a year. Job Summary Working independently under general supervision, the Data Analytics Developer designs, implements, and maintains complex on-premise and cloud-based database solutions that support the university's Institutional Effectiveness (IE) enterprise reporting, analytics, regulatory compliance functions, and Academic Affairs integration initiatives. This position applies advanced technical expertise in database architecture, Microsoft Azure and AWS cloud environments, automation, performance optimization, security, and systems integration to support mission-critical campus-wide systems. The incumbent exercises advanced judgment in determining appropriate database design, cloud architecture, automation frameworks, and customization decisions. Work involves planning, developing, and supporting moderately to highly complex database environments with significant institutional impact, particularly those integrating Academic Affairs systems with enterprise data platforms. The position provides technical leadership, mentors staff, and ensures alignment with university IT policies, cloud governance standards, cybersecurity protocols, and data governance requirements.
