DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will support daily operations at the Montgomery County Maintenance Office by providing semi-skilled assistance in building, yard, and equipment maintenance. You will help ensure safe, clean, and efficient conditions across the maintenance facility. As a Tradesman Helper, you will perform the following duties:
- Building Maintenance: Perform cleaning tasks throughout the facility including restrooms, offices, common areas, and garage spaces
- Yard Upkeep: Maintain outdoor areas by cutting grass, removing snow, and keeping grounds organized
- Mechanical Assistance: Support mechanics by completing light repairs such as oil changes, mounting tires, and replacing lights
- Supply Handling: Load and unload vendor materials and verify delivery accuracy before distribution
- Tool Care: Clean, organize, and store tools properly to support safe and efficient operations
- Equipment Washing: Wash vehicles and equipment and maintain the wash bay in a clean condition

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes).
