You will lead a team responsible for Commercial products design and development in collaboration with business partners. You will research solutions that inform recommended actions to improve profitability, growth and customer experience in support of annual profit and growth plans. In this role, you'll align new products, enhancements and initiatives to the Commercial top and bottom line short-term and long-term goals. You will create insights from intelligence about customers, market and competitors for problem solving and proactively identifying product solutions aligned to product strategy.

You will report to an AVP, Product.

Position Compensation Range:

$131,000.00 - $220,000.00

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Create a collaborative, performance-driven work environment by facilitating and fostering trust, transparency, and inclusion. Work with team members to set clear goals, provide feedback, perform performance assessments, and support on-going development.

  • Lead with influence and expertise. Actively contribute to division or department leadership team. Communicate and support organization mission, vision, values, policies, and practices.

  • Lead with a continuous improvement approach and recommend actions to improve premium volume growth and profitability.

  • Lead implementation of product development changes. Includes other corporate stakeholders for opportunity identification, enterprise service linkage, vendor management and research.

  • Oversee product research and insights gathering and analysis including competitive intelligence, customer empathy, developing new pricing models, and new product solutions.

  • Lead the development of new and enhanced pricing and/or data model opportunities to enhance pricing and underwriting segmentation.

  • Manage and effectively sets the outcomes of the Commercial product development's roadmap, defining what "good" looks like and prioritize accordingly.

  • Oversee the team to operate in scaled agile environment, accountable for epics and features defined with delivery in planned releases.

  • Create a cross-functional leadership environment, aligning actuarial, product, underwriting, claims, legal/compliance and IT

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.

  • Demonstrated experience analyzing and interpreting facts and data, including financial information, in a way that can lead to actionable conclusions.

  • Demonstrated experience communicating to a variety of audiences to review findings, arguments, options, risks, benefits, and other issues in a frame of reference that the audience can understand; translate technical detail into business outcomes.

  • Demonstrated experience in driving to results in one or more of the following areas: sales, product lines, claims, or other core business functions.

  • Demonstrated experience managing and leading large complex projects or programs with a cross-divisional impact toward intended results.

  • Demonstrated effective experience leading people or projects.

  • Solid knowledge and understanding of root cause analysis and processes.

  • Demonstrated experience developing insurance product strategies.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in product development and/or management with a focus on profit and loss.

  • Solid knowledge of market research and marketplace and regulatory trends

Additional Specialized Knowledge and Skills

  • Solid knowledge of Commercial P&C product design/development, including new builds, enhancements, and launches.

  • Strong knowledge of pricing & UW segmentation and scaled agile roadmapping (define/prioritize features; partner with Product/Actuarial/UW on variables, tiers, eligibility).

In this flex office/home role, you will be expected to work a minimum of 10 days per month from either Madison, WI; Boston, MA; Denver, CO; Hopkins, MN or St Joseph, MO. Madison is strongly preferred.
