Mechanical Claims Specialist (Automotive Experience Required) Position Overview Are you an experienced automotive mechanic ready to step away from the shop floor and into a new phase of your career? This role allows you to leverage your handson mechanical expertise in a professional office or remote environment-without the physical demands of daily repairs. As a Mechanical Claims Specialist, you'll use your indepth knowledge of vehicle systems to evaluate automotive warranty claims, guide customers and repair facilities through the claims process, and ensure fair, accurate outcomes. What You'll Do * Evaluate, investigate, and process mechanical warranty claims using established coverage guidelines * Apply strong automotive knowledge to determine whether repairs are approved, denied, or require additional steps * Communicate clearly and professionally with: * Dealerships requesting repair authorization * Vehicle owners with questions about claim decisions * Other internal claim partners as needed * Explain technical repair details in a way that nontechnical customers can easily understand * Guide customers through next steps, including inspections, estimates, and documentation requirements * Provide empathetic, solutionsfocused customer service in sometimes sensitive situations * Maintain detailed and accurate electronic claim records using internal systems * Collaborate with team members and leaders to consistently uphold high standards of fairness, accuracy, and professionalism Call Types You'll Handle * Dealerships calling to confirm coverage for required vehicle repairs * Vehicle owners seeking explanation of approved or denied claims * Vehicle owners looking for guidance on how to proceed with mechanical issues and claim submission Work Environment * Office, hybrid, or remote (depending on location and tenure) * Highvolume call center environment * Multisystem and multimonitor setup * Fastpaced but structured workflows with strong training support Qualifications Required * 3+ years of experience as an automotive mechanic or in a related mechanical field * Strong working knowledge of vehicle systems, diagnostics, and repair processes * Ability to explain mechanical concepts clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences * Proven customer service experience, including handling challenging or escalated situations * Strong verbal communication skills and professionalism on the phone * Comfortable navigating multiple software systems simultaneously * High school diploma or GED Preferred * ASE certification * Experience with labor guides such as AllData or Mitchell * Familiarity with scan tools and diagnostics * Bilingual (English/Spanish) Additional Requirements * Ability to travel to Deerfield Beach, FL or St. Louis, MO for a 2week onboarding training * Willingness to work occasional Saturdays * Reliable highspeed internet and a quiet home workspace for remote or hybrid schedules Experience Level Entry Level (Mechanically Skilled Candidates Encouraged to Apply) Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Deerfield Beach, FL.
