Job Summary
The Aging Well Lab in the Center for Vital Longevity at The University of Texas at Dallas, under the direction of Kendra Seaman, Ph.D., is currently seeking to hire a full-time Research Assistant I beginning in June 2026. The position is a minimum of a one-year commitment (renewable).
We are interested in what motivates people, how that influences the decisions they make, and how this may change across adulthood. We use a wide variety of behavioral, modeling, and neuroimaging techniques. Please see https://agingwell.utdallas.edu/ for more information on our lab's focus and ongoing projects.
Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in one of the basic sciences or an equivalent combination of education and experience in customer service or in daily interactions in a public services environment.

Preferred Education and Experience
Preferred qualifications include a BA or BS in psychology, neuroscience, behavioral economics, data science, or a related field. Strong applicants from other fields may be considered. Excellent organizational, time management, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills are required.

Prior experience with experimental design, programming of behavioral tasks, human subject data collection, and data analysis. Technical skills (e.g. Python, R, Unix) are also highly desired but not required. Prior experience managing teams and/or an interest in psychological and neurobiological changes across adulthood are also a plus.
Other Qualifications
To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities for the Research Assistant I will include (1) assisting with the design and implementation of behavioral, eye-tracking, and fMRI experiments, (2) recruitment and testing of human subjects, (3) coordinating and training research assistants, and (4) preprocessing and analysis of experimental data.
