Job Announcement

This position supports our Fairfax Detoxification Program and A New Beginning Program. This key leadership role manages and supervises all administrative activities and support staff across two residential programs serving approximately 53 staff. Also oversees a wide range of operational functions, including contracts, facility maintenance, computer operations, fiscal activities, food service coordination, and health and safety compliance, while also handling sensitive client-related matters with a high level of discretion. In addition, serves as a primary liaison with internal and external partners, leading interagency coordination with Facilities Management, Risk Management, Workers' Compensation, the Department of Family Services, the Health Department, and other partnering agencies to ensure smooth, compliant, and efficient program operations.

Employment Standards

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following: (Click on the aforementioned link to learn how Fairfax County interprets equivalencies) High school graduation and four years of experience providing administrative support in the assigned functional area(s).

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:

  • Valid Driver's License
  • CPR (within 3 months of hire)

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, a Child Protective Services Registry check, a driving record check, and sanction screening to the satisfaction of the employer. A TB screening upon hire.

This position is emergency/essential services personnel. (Required to report for duty during inclement weather and/or other emergencies).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • At least four years of administrative experience.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience working in a residential treatment facility for mental health and/or substance abuse disorders.
  • Experience with food service management.
  • Experience overseeing contracts, building maintenance, and health and safety issues.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, and write as needed to complete duties of the job. Must be able to observe client behavior/appearance and be able to converse with clients and co-workers. Ability to assist clients by picking up and/or dropping of supplies (i.e. food). Ability to independently drive to multiple sites. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.

Panel Interview and may include a practical exercise.
