CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Survey Crew Chief to join our Survey Geospatial Team in Norwell, MA. In this role, you will oversee day-to-day field activities that support critical transportation projects, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strong team coordination. This opportunity is ideal for a driven leader who combines technical expertise with a collaborative approach and takes pride in delivering reliable, high-quality survey data.



What You'll Do:

    Direct and lead field crew members through daily survey assignments, ensuring safe, efficient, and wellcoordinated field operations in alignment with safety protocols and quality assurance standards
  • Perform record research, construction stakeout, boundary, topographic, transportation, and utility surveys utilizing total stations, data collectors, and GPS
  • Review legal documents, plans, and project materials to accurately plan and execute surveying projects and task goal establishment
  • Create and verify field sketches and field computations related to traversing, map interpretation, and layout


What You Bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree and/or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience required
  • Strong knowledge of surveying practices, field procedures, and industry standards
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office preferred; knowledge of AutoCAD and MicroStation preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team coordination skills with the ability to represent the firm professionally with clients and the broader public
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment over uneven terrain and work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Valid driver's license required with the ability to travel short-term
  • NSPS CST Level II certification preferred; LSIT preferred

Salary Range:

$32.00 - $40.00

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
