JOB DESCRIPTION

Make your mark for patients

We are looking for a Local Supply Chain & Warehousing Lead who is collaborative, proactive, and forward-thinking to join our BioNexUS Internal Manufacturing team, based at our UCB campus in Atlanta, Giorgia.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to one of UCB's most strategic manufacturing projects and play a key role in shaping the future of biologics manufacturing. We are looking for someone who combines strong operational expertise with the ability to influence complex project decisions, challenge existing thinking, and bring innovative solutions to the table. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable discussing high-level strategic concepts as they are diving into operational details and understands how today's decisions will impact manufacturing performance for years to come.

About the role:

This role is part of the BioNexUS project, a strategic initiative to build UCB's next-generation biologics manufacturing facility in Georgia, USA.

As Local Supply Chain & Warehousing Lead, you will represent Internal Manufacturing throughout the design and delivery of the facility, ensuring that supply chain and warehousing requirements are fully integrated into project decisions from concept through implementation. Acting as the voice of operations, you will bring practical expertise, operational insight, and industry best practices to help shape a facility that is efficient, compliant, scalable, and ready to support future manufacturing needs.

Who you'll work with:

You will be part of the BioNexUS Internal Manufacturing team and work closely with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Digital, Automation, and Project Delivery teams across UCB.

You will also collaborate with manufacturing sites and global functions to gather operational insights, benchmark best practices, and ensure lessons learned are incorporated into the future facility design. Working across multiple stakeholders, you will act as a key link between project teams and manufacturing operations, helping translate operational needs into effective project solutions.

What you'll do:

  • Represent Internal Manufacturing throughout the project, ensuring supply chain and warehousing requirements are embedded into facility design and project decisions.
  • Define user requirements and translate operational, technical, and business needs into practical, compliant, and future-ready solutions.
  • Provide subject matter expertise across planning, procurement, warehousing, inventory management, material flows, logistics, and distribution processes.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing sites and global stakeholders to gather best practices, operational knowledge, and lessons learned from existing operations.
  • Review technical documentation, process designs, layouts, and operational concepts to ensure they support long-term manufacturing performance and business objectives.
  • Identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities, while actively influencing project teams to develop robust and sustainable solutions.
  • Contribute to the design of efficient and scalable supply chain and warehousing operations that support both current and future manufacturing requirements.
  • Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative practices to help shape future-ready manufacturing capabilities.
  • Ensure Quality, GMP, HSE, and compliance requirements are considered and embedded throughout all project phases.
  • Promote operational excellence and support project decisions that enable safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations from day one.

Interested? For this role, we're looking for the following education, experience and skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Life Sciences, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience within biopharmaceutical operations and regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Strong expertise in supply chain and warehousing operations, including planning, procurement, inventory management, storage, logistics, and distribution.
  • Experience supporting large-scale pharmaceutical or biotechnology projects, facility start-ups, capital projects, or manufacturing transformations.
  • Strong understanding of the systems, processes, and technologies supporting modern supply chain and warehouse operations.
  • Ability to translate operational requirements into clear business, technical, and project requirements.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across functions and organizational levels.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational detail and navigate complex project environments.
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and solution-oriented, with a strong continuous improvement and innovation mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively in a rapidly evolving environment with changing priorities and project needs.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken. French is an advantage.
  • Regular travel to Belgium and Switzerland may be required during conceptual design and basic design phases.
