PRN Summer Camp Counselor
Saint Louis University | Earth, Wind, and Water Camp Program
Position Summary
Saint Louis University seeks an attentive and mission-driven Overnight Summer Camp Counselorto support our Earth, Wind, and Water summer program. This PRN/on-call role is responsible for the supervision, safety, and well-being of campers during evening and overnight hours, while fostering a positive, inclusive residential experience.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide continuous overnight supervision to ensure camper safety and well-being
  • Support positive cabin dynamics and a respectful, inclusive environment
  • Guide evening routines, including meals, hygiene, and rest preparation
  • Collaborate with the Camp Director and fellow counselors to support daily operations
  • Facilitate safe, engaging, age-appropriate activities
  • Enforce camp expectations and resolve conflicts with care and fairness
  • Follow emergency protocols and support camper health and dietary needs
  • Serve as a positive mentor and role model
Qualifications
  • High school diplomaor equivalent
  • Strong communication, judgment, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and responsive in dynamic situations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with youth in camp, education, or recreation settings
  • CPR/First Aid certification
