About the Job

Conduct, oversee, and analyze data from multiple complex experiments (40%)

  • Genome editing of human cells
  • Assess functionality of modified cells
  • FACS panel analysis of gene-edited cells
  • Independently analyze and interpret experimental data and troubleshoot experimental outcomes across multiple projects

Design and oversight of new experimental plans and procedures (50%)

  • Development of novel methods for engineering of cells
  • Independently design and lead experimental plans and approaches for genome engineering and cell-based studies
  • Serve as lead on assigned research projects, including selecting experimental approaches and determining sequencing and execution of experiments
  • Provide scientific oversight and make decisions regarding experimental design, methodology, and prioritization of work

Routine lab maintenance (5%)

  • Materials acquisition and laboratory organization as necessary
  • Ensure appropriate laboratory resources and infrastructure are maintained to support ongoing research activities

Supervision (5%)

  • Supervise undergraduate research assistants and laboratory technical personnel who will aid in performing multiple complex experiments
  • Provide direction, task assignment, and technical guidance to support staff and student researchers

Work Location: In person - CCRB

Qualifications

All required qualifications must be documented on application materials

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree plus at least five years of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant work experience to equal at least nine years

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in Cell Biology or related discipline
  • Experience with cell biology techniques and immunoassays
  • Experience in genome engineering methodologies
Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $30.00 - $35.00/hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment: 100% Appointment
