Systems Engineer

A Systems Engineer job is currently available with Belcan for in-office work in North Phoenix, AZ. *We are seeking a Flight Management System (FMS) professional to join our exciting team with a focus on Avionics Systems and Defense Products. *This is a direct, full-time position with benefits and paid overtime. *To be considered for this role, you will need a Bachelor of Science degree in a related engineering field, and a minimum of 3 years of experience within FMS systems or software programs. * *

Job duties:
* Develop and validate hardware and software system functional and software requirements
* Support the design of hardware, software, and interface specifications
* Troubleshoot, develop, and test FMS components
* Operate system integration lab equipment to integrate and validate FMS applications
* Coordinate internally and externally to generate and execute project plans and reviews
* Support the development of engineering processes and policies
* Develop and execute test cases and procedures to verify the system under test
* Troubleshoot and manage issues, problem reports, and change requests in a timely manner
* Escalate issues that need additional engineering or business leadership assistance in a timely manner
* Candidates are expected to mentor younger engineers, help grow teams, recognize new business potential with customers and report status to technical leads and project managers

Qualifications:
* Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace engineering, software engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering or related engineering degree from an accredited institution
* 3+ years FMS development/integration experience - preferably with aerospace software/systems, datalink systems, or avionics systems
* Regulatory experience preferred: *ARP-4754, DO-178B/C, Mil Standards
* Datalink experience is a plus
* Ability to deal with ambiguity, to be adaptable, to work across multi-discipline teams, and to drive results
* Due to the nature of the work performed, U.S. Citizenship is a requirement

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering an salary rate of $85,000 to $125,000 however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline. Benefits offered may include health care, dental, vision, life insurance; 401(k); education assistance; paid time off including PTO, holidays, and any other paid leave required by law.
