THE POSITION

The Department of Transportation is looking for a dedicated Clerical Assistant 1 who enjoys organizing information and solving problems. In this role, you will help maintain efficient workflow by reviewing and correcting key documents. Your efforts will support the accuracy of important records used across the agency. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports efficient document processing by reviewing, correcting, and preparing digital and printed records. As a Clerical Assistant 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Exception Review: Examine images of checks and documents to identify discrepancies and determine next steps
  • Image Correction: Make required adjustments to displayed documents and submit corrected versions into the retrieval system
  • Supervisor Referral: Send items needing additional review to the supervisor queue with clear comments
  • Document Preparation: Print and organize physical documents for rescanning when re-imaging is required
  • Daily Reporting: Prepare written reports that summarize work completed, time spent, and exception details
  • Cross Training: Learn and support scanning functions as needed to assist the workflow

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 75 hours bi-weekly
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
