The Bilingual Management Aide with the York City Housing Authority plays a key role in supporting residents and staff. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports a wide range of administrative and tenant service tasks across the housing programs. The role focuses on assisting residents, handling documentation, and providing reliable front desk support. As a Bilingual Management Aide for the York Housing Authority, you will perform the following duties:

  • Eligibility Calculations: Complete rent and eligibility computations for program participants
  • Documentation Review: Verify and process required forms for annual reexams and interim updates
  • Public Assistance: Respond to inquiries about guidelines, requirements, waiting lists, and housing availability
  • Record Management: Scan, index, and update participant files and notes in the computer system
  • Front Desk Support: Provide reception coverage and route maintenance concerns from tenants
  • Program Assistance: Support a variety of administrative, fiscal, and occupancy tasks across housing programs

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Tuesday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One (1) year of experience in performing tasks associated with the management of multi-family housing developments, or properties owned or administered by public housing agencies; or
  • One (1) year of comparable business, industrial, or professional employment; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • This particular position requires the selected candidate to be able to read, write, and speak in Spanish. You may be contacted for a Spanish speaking proficiency evaluation conducted by the Bureau of Talent Acquisition, PA Office of Administration. If contacted, you must pass the speaking evaluation in order to be deemed eligible for this position. Your proficiency in reading and writing in Spanish must be demonstrated during the probationary period to achieve regular status in the position.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who live within York County. If no eligible candidates who live in York County apply or this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
