POSITION SUMMARY The Senior Business Lending Officer is responsible for developing new business, structuring, and the closing of commercial loans and deposits, as well as maintaining and servicing an existing portfolio. Represents the Credit Union in local community through active participation in community affairs and participates in marketing of the products and services. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor an existing commercial real estate loan portfolio to ensure proper risk ratings and early identification of potential problems.
- Source and develop new loan and deposit opportunities for new & existing members.
- Maximize profitability through appropriate pricing of new loan originations, fee income and selling of all products & services.
- Negotiate terms, structure loan financing based on risk considerations and present credits for approval.
- Support the credit union's strong relationship culture through on-going customer contact, quality customer service and superior product knowledge.
- Interview and negotiate loan structure with prospective borrowers. Collect and analyze financial and related data to determine the general creditworthiness of the prospect and the merits of the specific loan request.
- Assist in obtaining documents to maintain compliant credit file in accordance with departmental guidelines. Ensure proper documentation and closing of commercial loans, including all supporting documentation and follow-up.
- Engineer and execute various sales plan for the Business Lending team within their individual market areas while practicing agility to modify as needed for maximum return on investment.
- Serve as an Ambassador for the Credit Union, instill our vision of "WHY" we exist as a financial to influence and capture interest to those around you, disseminate our co-operative principles into the communities we serve and strengthen our membership base.
- Serve as an additional mentor to the current business lenders to help with credit and structure of new opportunities.
- Provide additional support for lenders on identifying quality opportunities.
- Provide support in Baker Hill, and all other processes pertaining to Commercial Lending.
- Additional duties and services as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or Economics is valued but not required.
- Minimum 6 years of sales or credit analyst experience related to commercial lending.
- Formal credit training preferred.
- Must have a valid Driver's License.

- Efficient or highly trainable in software such as CRMs, Microsoft Office, and any other core system technology that is deployed to meet the requirements of the job.
- Strong time management skills and ability to work variable hours before and after the Credit Unions basic hours of operation.
- Comply with regulatory requirements related to the position including but not limited to: BSA/AML, OFAC, Privacy.
- Excellent understanding of regulations applicable to lending and deposit products.
- Must have capability to address and resolve problems involving several variables in elevated situations.
- Superior communication skills: effectively listen, take instruction, and disseminate information.
- Use effective judgment to make sound decisions while minimizing the Credit Union's exposure to risk.

- Work Environment: Business office, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to sit or stand at a desk the majority of the workday; talk or hear; stand or walk occasionally. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is typically utilizing a computer, keyboard and phone. May occasionally reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee may occasionally lift and move up to 30 pounds. Work Environment includes the business office and out of the office calls. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
