Purpose:

The Fired Equipment Engineer designs, develops, implements and analyzes technical products and systems. POC for fired equipment support and escalations; Troubleshooting issues, planning turnaround and equipment strategy.

This position is located onsite Baton Rouge, LA in a refinery environment - 30% field, 70% in office (per diem/living allowance may be offered for candidates that live 100+ miles from Baton Rouge, LA). The anticipated role duration is one year with possibility of extension.

Schedule: M-F 40-hour work schedule with potential overtime as needed upon client request and approval, no travel required.

Responsibilities:

  • The Equipment Engineer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems.
  • Performs equipment engineering design evaluations.
  • May develop a range of products.
  • Recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

What you will bring
Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:

  • 8+ years of industry experience with 3+ years fire equipment experience with heaters, boilers, flares; operation and project delivery background.
  • Proficient in fired simulation software and Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrates effective communication across several teams; displays initiative with juggling several priorities with tight deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within particular field.
  • Anticipates & solves problems by integrating knowledge from a number of areas.
  • Less reliant on supervisor, but may report to a supervisor or manager.
  • Responsible for owning projects.
  • Represents local workgroup internally and on occasion, externally

Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:

  • Bachelor's in mechanical or chemical engineering.
