Hand Sander

Position Summary

Performs operations to hand sand exposed wood frame parts, frame sub-assemblies, and/or materials. Work on a variety of parts as assigned performing sanding operations for correct smoothness to ensure completion of work is to quantity and quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Use moving motorized conveyor that brings the next frame or frame sub-assembly to the sander. Then maneuver around and step over the conveyor system in order to perform the job.
• Use sand paper pads to hand sand sofas, loveseats, chairs, ottomans and beds to assure appropriate smoothness.
• Timely sand the frame by rubbing the pad against the exposed wood.
• Rotate the frame or pallet to make sure the entire frame is sanded.
• Remove defective frames from the finish conveyor with the help of a co-worker.
• May perform other duties/ special or non-routine assignments as instructed.
