About the opportunity

You will join QIAGEN's Global Trade Compliance team as a Senior Specialist focused on the Americas region, with a strong emphasis on U.S. Customs import compliance. In this role, you will ensure adherence to applicable trade regulations while driving continuous improvement of compliance processes across the region. Working closely with internal stakeholders, external brokers, and regulatory authorities, you will play a key role in supporting compliant and efficient cross-border operations and strengthening QIAGEN's global trade framework.

This is an onsite role in our QIAGEN Germantown, MD office.

Your tasks include

  • Ensuring compliance with applicable U.S. and regional import/export laws and regulations across the Americas

  • Managing and continuously improving trade compliance processes, with a focus on U.S. import compliance

  • Overseeing import and export clearance activities and providing clear instructions to brokers, freight forwarders, and internal teams

  • Supporting audits, CBP rulings, post-summary corrections, and other regulatory interactions

  • Conducting regular reviews of broker performance, import/export transactions, and compliance risks

  • Supporting product classification (HTS), country of origin determination, and customs valuation activities

  • Delivering trade compliance training and providing expert guidance to cross-functional teams

Your profile

  • Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field

  • 3-5 years of experience in trade compliance, with strong focus on U.S. import regulations

  • Experience working in a multinational environment within the Americas region

  • Solid understanding of customs regulations and interaction with regulatory authorities

  • Experience collaborating with brokers, freight forwarders, and cross-functional stakeholders

  • Advanced skills in SAP or similar ERP systems and strong proficiency in MS Excel

  • Willingness to travel occasionally and flexibility to support global operations

The estimated base salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000. Compensation will be based on the candidate's experience, skills, geographic location, and other job-related factors. In addition to base salary, we offer a total compensation package that includes a bonus plan, and generous benefits.
