We are seeking an experienced Clinical Director to lead clinical operations for a premier outpatient surgical organization in Washington, DC. This leadership role oversees all aspects of perioperative and procedural care, ensuring exceptional patient outcomes, regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and a high-quality patient experience. The Clinical Director will partner closely with physicians and executive leadership to manage surgical services, quality initiatives, infection prevention programs, staff development, emergency preparedness, and overall clinical performance.

Responsibilities
  • Direct all clinical operations across surgical and procedural services
  • Develop and implement clinical policies, procedures, and standards of care
  • Promote a culture of patient safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with physician leadership on strategic and operational initiatives
  • Oversee pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative patient care
  • Ensure efficient operating room scheduling, staffing, and resource utilization
  • Monitor compliance with perioperative nursing standards and best practices
  • Improve patient flow and surgical efficiency
  • Lead quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards
  • Manage accreditation surveys, audits, and regulatory inspections
  • Monitor patient safety metrics, incident reporting, and risk management activities
  • Recruit, mentor, supervise, and evaluate clinical staff
  • Conduct performance reviews and competency assessments
  • Support continuing education, training, and professional development
  • Maintain staffing coverage and workforce planning
  • Oversee infection prevention programs and safety initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with sterilization and infection control standards
  • Lead emergency preparedness planning, drills, and staff training
  • Optimize clinical workflows and patient care processes
  • Manage supply inventory, equipment maintenance, and vendor relationships
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and control costs while maintaining quality care
