The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $127,504-$147,200 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Tasks and Qualifications:

Design, develop, test, and deploy Dematic iQ Optimize WCS and WES software solutions for some of the most complex material handling and logistics projects in the world. Work within a software team using Agile practices, such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint retrospective, etc., to install new WCS and WES systems, or modify existing WCS and WES systems. Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to design, develop and test integrated equipment systems, including conveyor, automated storage and retrieval systems, automated guide vehicles, etc. Analyze user needs and system requirements to create software designs, such as algorithm changes, GUI diagrams, etc., accounting for limitations and cost constraints. Collaborate with system engineers, controls engineers and other engineering disciplines to develop equipment integration specifications, including conveyor layout diagrams, equipment communication protocol specifications, etc., considering limitations and design requirements. Consult with customers, project management, and other engineering disciplines, on project status, proposals, technical issues and software design. Develop high-quality code and unit tests for our proprietary WCS and WES software. Create and execute testing plans covering unit testing, integration testing, regression testing, and performance testing. Perform and participate in code reviews to ensure best practices are followed and risks are mitigated. Lead software development on WCS and WES (Dematic iQ Optimize) subsystems and projects of intermediate complexity. Break down work into actionable software development tasks to be delivered by yourself or delegated to others. Coach and mentor less experienced developers. Support initiatives to improve internal engineering processes to improve the quality and efficiency of software projects. Coordinate and execute installation and deployment of WCS and WES (Dematic iQ Optimize) software systems. Train users to use new or modified WCS and WES (Dematic iQ Optimize) software systems. Recover from, investigate, and resolve software issues identified in production systems including issues requiring collaboration across engineering disciplines. Commission software systems to validate integration with equipment.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or closely related field and 5 years' experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer, or related occupation. Also requires 2 years of experience with Java EE, Gitlab, Hibernate, IntelliJ IDE, Wildfly, ActiveMQ, GWT, Python, and SonarQube; Developing software for Warehouse Control Systems (WCS) and Warehouse Execution Systems (WES); Logistics and Material Handling Solutions; and Database Design and Programming Microsoft SQL.
