Schedule: 1st Shift (Monday - Thursday 6:00am-3:30pm; every other Friday 6:00am-2:30pm)
Maintenance Mechanic / Electrician - 1st Shift:
- Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM and every other Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Our client, a leading aerospace manufacturer, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic / Electrician to support manufacturing operations at its Ogden, Utah facility. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
The ideal candidate has a strong industrial maintenance background with electrical troubleshooting experience and enjoys solving problems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow all required safety, environmental, and company operating procedures at all times.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment, machinery, and facility systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility infrastructure to maximize uptime and reliability.
- Diagnose electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and control system issues using analytical reasoning and troubleshooting techniques.
- Inspect equipment in operation to identify root causes of malfunctions and determine appropriate corrective actions.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and equipment manuals.
- Repair or replace defective components and make necessary adjustments to restore equipment to proper operating condition.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and electrical test equipment including voltmeters and meters.
- Collaborate with other maintenance technicians, engineering, and production teams to improve equipment reliability and process efficiency.
- Coordinate repairs and projects with outside contractors and vendors as needed.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete required documentation.
- Prioritize daily tasks to support production schedules and minimize downtime.
- Participate in an on-call rotation with other maintenance team members.
- Work overtime as needed to complete repairs and return equipment to service.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and properly store tools, equipment, and spare parts.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five (5) years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Aerospace manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills with experience working on industrial electrical systems.
- Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret: Electrical schematics, Mechanical drawings, Hydraulic diagrams, Blueprints, Equipment manuals and technical documentation.
- Experience with industrial production systems, building maintenance systems, plumbing, welding, and fabrication is preferred.
- Experience using drill presses, hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and electrical testing equipment.
- Basic PLC knowledge and troubleshooting experience preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose equipment failures and determine effective corrective actions.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work effectively.
Education & Certifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Apprenticeship, Associate Degree, technical certificate, or equivalent trade training preferred.
- Journeyman Electrician License is preferred.
Physical & Environmental Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb throughout the workday. Ability to lift, carry, and move tools, equipment, and machine components as required. Ability to work around moving machinery and manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, oils, lubricants, and varying temperatures.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
