Data Entry Specialist - Healthcare Provider Data *Location:* Santa Barbara, CA (Hybrid - 2 Days Onsite / 3 Days Remote)
*Pay:* $24-$27/hour (Based on Experience) *Schedule:* Full-Time, Monday-Friday *Duration:* Contract (July-December) with Strong Potential for Extension *Industry:* Healthcare / Managed Care About the Opportunity We're seeking an experienced *Data Entry Specialist* to support a leading healthcare organization's Provider Services team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working with large volumes of data while maintaining a high level of accuracy. The successful candidate will help maintain provider data integrity, support provider database updates, validate documentation, and ensure information is entered accurately and timely into internal systems. This position offers a flexible hybrid schedule and a strong possibility of extension based on performance. What You'll Be Doing Provider Data Management * Perform high-volume data entry and provider data configuration activities. * Configure newly contracted providers within internal databases. * Update provider demographic and address information. * Maintain provider records using information received from contracting, credentialing, and provider rosters. * Support provider database cleanup projects and ongoing data maintenance efforts. * Meet established quality and productivity metrics. Documentation Review & Verification * Research, collect, and verify provider documentation. * Review and process W-9s, Tax IDs, NPIs, affiliations, and other provider information. * Validate documentation for completeness and accuracy prior to submission. * Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation within internal systems. Provider Support & Research * Conduct outreach to providers via phone and email to obtain updated information. * Research discrepancies and resolve data issues. * Escalate complex issues to appropriate internal teams when necessary. * Support compliance requirements related to provider data management. Required Qualifications * Previous experience in data entry, data management, or provider data maintenance. * Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel. * Excellent typing and 10-key skills. * Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. * Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. * Ability to learn new systems, procedures, and healthcare processes quickly. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Preferred Qualifications * Experience working in the healthcare industry, managed care, health plans, or provider services. * Knowledge of provider data configuration or credentialing processes. * Experience reviewing provider documentation, W-9s, NPIs, or Tax IDs. * Familiarity with data auditing and quality control practices.
