JOB DESCRIPTION:

Summary of Position

The Director of Youth and Family Services provides strategic and operational leadership for a regional team of Managers, Supervisors, Team Leads, and Clinical Providers. This role is responsible for team performance, regulatory compliance, and the delivery of high-quality, efficient, and client-centered behavioral health services across programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervises and leads a team of Managers and Supervisors to accomplish department and individual goals
  • Oversees hiring, performance improvement, and evaluation of direct reports
  • Participates in preparation and monitoring of budgets for areas of responsibility
  • Contributes to, monitors, and manages progress associated with the department's strategic and operational goals
  • Oversees and monitors department productivity expectations, including clinical service utilization, and ensures alignment with organizational benchmarks
  • Ensures all client documentation meets organizational standards, payer requirements, and is applicable to regulatory and accreditation guidelines
  • Provides leadership oversight and coordination in response to client crisis, ensuring timely, appropriate and clinical sound interventions
  • Ensures compliance with HIPAA, confidentiality standards and data security requirements
  • Maintains general knowledge of community resources and maintains relationships with external partners
  • Participates in community meetings, staffing and other events promoting system collaboration and community mental health awareness
  • Cooperates with utilization review procedures and ensures programs are following established procedures, policies and regulations
  • Is responsive and cooperative with needs and requests such as: data collection, program evaluation, etc.
  • Performs other work assignments or special functions as assigned by department leadership team
  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure successful and timely client transitions throughout various Outpatient/Inpatient programs

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Provides strategic leadership and guidance to Managers and Supervisors within outpatient and access services
  • Champions change and effectively communicates and manages implementation of changes within the department
  • Handles difficult team member situations directly, using appropriate discretion and Human Resources advice to show respect for the individual
  • Reinforces team approach throughout functions; support and solicit input from team members at all levels within the organization

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to lead multi-site teams and operational change
  • Strong knowledge of accreditation and regulatory bodies as applicable
  • Understanding of funding, grants, and budgets
  • Knowledge of Florida Medicaid, managing entity expectations, and state-funded behavioral health systems

REQUIREMENTS:

Education Level

Master's degree in a behavioral health field

Years of Experience

3-4 years of leadership experience in behavioral health

5+ years of progressive leadership experience in behavioral health, including supervision of multidisciplinary teams and program oversight

Certification/Licensure

Active clinical license preferred, but not required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to travel between sites

Ability to work in fast-paced behavioral health environment

Position Type, Expected Hours of Work and Travel:

Full time, exempt position

Hours of work are Monday through Friday with occasional evening or weekend hours required

Frequent local travel

Pay Range:

$81,850.00--$122,740.00
