Requisition Summary
The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for engineering investigation, research, design, development and analysis of a variety of vehicle attributes depending on experience. Such as Cab Structures, Chassis, Steering, Vehicle suspension, Engine Integration, HVAC, Dash, Digital Displays, and interior/electrical components at Peterbilt in Denton, Texas. Duties involve working on a new development program, employing innovative skills to evolve ideas from concepts to implementation. Additional duties include providing engineering assistance, assembly / system design, root cause analysis, problem definition and resolution, training and other engineering duties supporting various aspects of expedited programs. Additional tasks include completion of design for six sigma documentation in assigned phases of project, tracking costs and applying standard engineering techniques with minimal supervision, occasionally requiring independent evaluation.
