Purpose of the Role
The Senior Craft Recruiter serves as a strategic talent acquisition partner responsible for leading direct-hire craft recruiting efforts across multiple projects, regions, or business units. This role plays a critical part in ensuring Worley can attract, hire, and mobilize highly qualified craft professionals to support project execution while maintaining compliance with company policies, employment regulations, and workforce planning objectives. The Senior Craft Recruiter partners closely with Construction, Operations, Project Controls, Human Resources, and Site Leadership teams to develop proactive workforce strategies, build sustainable talent pipelines, and ensure the successful delivery of project staffing requirements. This position provides leadership, guidance, and mentorship to recruiting team members while driving continuous improvement in recruiting processes, sourcing strategies, and workforce planning initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Workforce Planning
- Lead the development and execution of craft workforce plans that support current and future project staffing requirements.
- Partner with project leadership, construction management, and operations teams to forecast labor demands and identify workforce risks and opportunities.
- Develop proactive recruiting strategies to address critical skill shortages, market conditions, and project mobilization requirements.
- Analyze labor market trends, compensation data, and competitive hiring practices to recommend staffing solutions.
- Support large-scale project mobilizations and workforce ramp-up activities across multiple sites and locations.
Talent Acquisition Leadership
- Lead full-cycle recruiting efforts for skilled craft professionals, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, and hiring.
- Build and maintain robust talent pipelines for high-demand craft disciplines including mechanical, civil, structural, electrical, instrumentation, welding, pipefitting, scaffolding, equipment operations, and specialty trades.
- Partner with hiring managers and project leadership to define hiring requirements and develop effective recruitment strategies.
- Present qualified candidate slates and hiring recommendations to leadership teams.
- Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment lifecycle.
Sourcing and Market Engagement
- Identify, evaluate, and implement advanced sourcing strategies utilizing job boards, social media platforms, trade organizations, workforce development programs, community partnerships, military transition programs, and referral networks.
- Develop relationships with trade schools, apprenticeship programs, workforce agencies, and industry organizations to expand candidate pipelines.
- Attend job fairs, hiring events, workforce development initiatives, and community outreach activities to promote Worley employment opportunities.
- Leverage recruiting technologies, market intelligence, and analytics to improve sourcing effectiveness and hiring outcomes.
Compliance and Human Resources Support
- Support site leadership in the consistent application of HR policies, procedures, and workforce practices.
- Assist with employee relations matters, workforce documentation, and HR-related initiatives as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate recruiting records, reports, and compliance documentation.
Leadership and Continuous Improvement
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and informal leadership to recruiters and recruiting coordinators.
- Support training and onboarding of new recruiting team members.
- Lead recruiting process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, candidate quality, and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Analyze recruiting metrics and workforce data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on craft recruiting practices, labor market conditions, and workforce planning strategies.
Stakeholder Management
- Build trusted relationships with project leadership, site management, operations teams, HR partners, and business leaders.
- Influence staffing decisions through data-driven recommendations and workforce insights.
- Prepare and deliver workforce reports, presentations, hiring forecasts, and recruiting updates to leadership.
- Collaborate across multiple functions to ensure alignment between workforce planning and business objectives.
What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Typically 8+ years of progressive experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, workforce planning, human resources, or a related field.
- Significant experience recruiting skilled craft professionals within construction, industrial, energy, EPC, manufacturing, refinery, petrochemical, LNG, mining, or infrastructure environments.
- Demonstrated success supporting large-scale project staffing and workforce mobilization efforts.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, labor regulations, compliance requirements, and HR best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
- Experience supporting major capital projects, industrial construction sites, or EPC organizations.
- Experience leading recruiting teams, projects, or workforce planning initiatives.
- Professional certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, AIRS, or related recruiting certifications.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of full-cycle recruiting methodologies and talent acquisition best practices.
- Strong understanding of craft labor markets, workforce trends, and project staffing requirements.
- Advanced sourcing capabilities utilizing traditional and emerging recruiting technologies.
- Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS), CRM platforms, workforce analytics, and recruiting technologies.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced, project-driven environments.
