Your Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Political Sales & Business Development Intern to support the development and growth of our expanding political advertising and advocacy sales offering. This internship provides hands-on exposure to political media sales, business development, market research, event planning, and client engagement. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and interested in politics, advertising, media, or sales.

This role offers a unique opportunity to help shape and build a new business offering from the ground up. The intern will work closely with sales and business leaders, contributing to strategy, research, market development, and operational initiatives that support the growth of the political sales organization.

Key Responsibilities May Include

Sales & Business Development Support
  • Participate in regional and national Political Sales Team calls and meetings.
  • Assist with preparing materials, agendas, and follow-up actions for client meetings, conferences, and industry events.
  • Help organize and distribute sales leads to local Account Executives and sales teams.
  • Support prospecting campaigns and outreach initiatives.
  • Assist with maintaining prospect databases and CRM records.
  • Provide general administrative and project support to the Political Sales Team.
Research & Market Intelligence
  • Conduct research on political organizations, advocacy groups, PACs, campaigns, agencies, consultants, and other potential clients.
  • Identify and compile information on sales opportunities, market trends, and competitive activity.
  • Research prospective contacts and help develop outreach strategies.
  • Create weekly summaries of political industry news and emerging opportunities.
  • Analyze political spending trends and identify emerging target markets.
  • Support development of competitive intelligence on other political advertising providers.
  • Monitor political, legislative, and election-related developments that may impact business opportunities.
Marketing & Sales Materials
  • Assist in developing and refining sales presentations, messaging, one-sheets, and collateral materials.
  • Help create case studies, success stories, and supporting sales content.
  • Support the development of political advertising insights and market intelligence reports.
Conference & Event Coordination
  • Help coordinate company participation in conferences, trade shows, and political industry events.
  • Assist with logistics, attendee outreach, scheduling, and event preparation.
  • Support post-event follow-up and lead management activities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Operations
  • Coordinate cross-functional communication between political sales, marketing, research, and local market teams.
  • Assist with special projects related to the growth and expansion of the political sales offering.
  • Help track key initiatives, deadlines, and deliverables across the team.
  • Support internal communication and knowledge-sharing efforts as the political sales organization grows.
  • Assist in documenting and refining sales processes, workflows, and best practices as the political offering scales.

Your Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, Communications, Marketing, Business, Public Affairs, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in politics, media, advertising, advocacy, or sales.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong research and analytical abilities.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and Google Workspace.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

The salary range for this role is $18/per hour. Compensation is determined during our interview process by assessing a candidate's experience and skills relative to internal peers and market benchmarks evaluated for the scope and responsibilities of the position.
