We are seeking a Production Engineer to support the successful development, release, and manufacture of complex products in a fast-paced aerospace and defense manufacturing environment. This role serves as the critical link between Engineering, Program Management, Supply Chain, Quality, and Production to ensure products are correctly define, properly configured, and efficiently produced throughout their lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of experience in manufacturing or production engineering and brings a strong background in manufacturability, configuration management, liaison engineering, and Bill of Material (BOM) management within an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This individual will play a key role in supporting production operations, maintaining product integrity, resolving manufacturing issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Manufacturing & Production Support

  • Develop, maintain, and manage Manufacturing Bills of Material (MBOMs) within the Costpoint ERP system.

  • Review and translate Engineering Bills of Materials (EBOMs) and Drawings into production-ready manufacturing data.

  • Support prototype, qualification, first article, and production builds.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to improve quality, throughput, and manufacturing efficiency.

Configuration Management & Change Control

  • Maintain alignment between engineering data packages, EBOMs, MBOMs, and released manufacturing documentation.

  • Support Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and revision implementation activities.

  • Ensure configuration control requirements are maintained throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Participate in Configuration Control Board (CCB) reviews and product baseline management activities.

  • Perform audits and reviews of product structures to ensure data accuracy and production readiness.

Liaison Engineering & MRB Support

  • Investigate and resolve production issues, nonconformances, obsolescence, and manufacturing discrepancies.

  • Develop engineering dispositions for nonconforming material.

  • Generate repair and rework instructions that meet engineering and quality requirements.

  • Support Material Review Board (MRB) activities and corrective action investigations.

  • Collaborate with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality to resolve technical issues and improve product producibility.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Planning, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to support production objectives.

  • Support manufacturing readiness reviews and transition-to-production activities.

  • Assist production planning activities through accurate management of product structures and manufacturing data.

  • Support program management with quoting and proposal activities.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

  • 6+ years of experience in Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Liaison Engineering, or a related manufacturing support role.

  • Experience supporting complex manufacturing environments, preferably aerospace, defense, military, or electromechanical products.

  • Demonstrated experience managing EBOMs and MBOMs within an ERP/MRP system (preferably Deltek Costpoint).

  • Experience with configuration management and engineering change control processes.

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, assembly methods, fabrication techniques, and production workflows.

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T, and technical documentation.

  • Experience developing repair and rework instructions for manufacturing nonconformances.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Deltek Costpoint ERP.

  • Experience supporting AS9100-compliant manufacturing environments.

  • Experience participating in Material Review Board (MRB) and Configuration Control Board (CCB) activities.

  • Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.

  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification.

  • Experience supporting government or defense programs.
