Position Title:

SCA - Engineering Technician IV

Job Purpose:

SCA Engineering Technician IV (Service Contract Act) typically performs complex, non-routinetechnical tasks under minimal supervision, focusing on testing, troubleshooting, repairing, anddocumenting electro-mechanical and avionics systems faults. Working to conduct root causeanalyses on defective components and ensuring compliance with military standards (mil-std). Inthis role the individual will act as a safety sensitive certified FAA repairman and will returncommercial aircraft parts back to service.

Key responsibilities of an SCA Engineering Technician IV include:

• Troubleshooting and Repair: Performing high-level, complex technical work such ascircuit card assembly (CCA) repair down to the component level of resistors, capacitors,diodes, inductors and integrated circuits. With the ability to discern faults in CCA usingtest equipment such as power supplies, multi-meter, oscilloscopes, Huntron and ICprogramming devices.
• Testing and Inspection: Executing automated and manual electrical performance tests,setting up test devices, and performing mechanical inspections using calibrated tools.
• Documentation and Data Analysis: Compiling detailed inspection reports, maintainingmaintenance logs, improving technical work documents and utilizing technical data toidentify defects.
• Process Improvement: Analyzing maintenance difficulties to recommend improvementsto training programs, inspection procedures, and technical documentation.
• Collaboration: Working with managers, engineers, quality assurance, and technicians toresolve issues.

Requirements:

• Must be able to obtain and maintain FAA certification as a safety sensitive repairman with a rating of Limited Accessory, Class 3, Electronics in an Air Repair station.

• Must be At least 18 years of age and able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

• Must undergo random drug and alcohol testing throughout your job performance.

• Must be able to work unsupervised with consistent effort.

• Experience: 4-6 years or more of directly related technical experience.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in working in Microsoft office suite, reading schematics, diagrams, and work instructions.

• Physical Ability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work with specialized equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Clearance: should be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level of clearance, if required for assigned program.

• Solder and repair skills a plus.
