Cranbrook Athletics is seeking an exceptional educator and leader to serve as Head Coach of our Girls' Varsity Basketball program. We are looking for a passionate program builder who is committed to developing student-athletes, fostering a love for the game, and building a thriving basketball culture across our K-12 community.

Cranbrook has a proud athletic tradition that includes hundreds of conference, district, and regional championships. The Cranes have captured 101 State Championships across seven different sports and compete in outstanding athletic facilities, including Thompson Oval, Wallace Ice Arena, Williams Natatorium, Keppel Gymnasium, Jack Sanders Diamond Baseball Field, and one of the premier tennis complexes in the nation.

The Head Girls' Basketball Coach is responsible for leading and growing all aspects of the program, including but not limited to:



  • Developing and implementing a long-term vision for Girls Basketball at Cranbrook.
  • Building meaningful connections with student-athletes from the Lower School through Upper School.
  • Creating opportunities for skill development and engagement for players of all ages and ability levels.
  • Organizing and conducting practices, games, camps, clinics, and offseason development opportunities.
  • Hiring, mentoring, and supervising assistant coaches.
  • Promoting a positive and inclusive basketball culture throughout the Cranbrook community.


The successful candidate will:



  • Be passionate about teaching and player development.
  • Demonstrate a genuine commitment to investing in young people and building relationships with students and families.
  • Foster a culture that emphasizes growth, teamwork, resilience, sportsmanship, and a love of competition.
  • Maintain the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
  • Support the academic, social, and emotional development of student-athletes.
  • Collaborate effectively with students, parents, faculty, staff, and administration.
  • Serve as an enthusiastic ambassador for Cranbrook Athletics and the Girls Basketball program.


Requirements:



  • At least three years of successful coaching experience at the high school, collegiate, or club/AAU level.
  • A demonstrated passion for player development and program building.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • The ability to connect with and inspire student-athletes across a wide age range.
  • Experience working within a school environment and an understanding of the value of educational athletics.
  • Experience building relationships with youth and middle school basketball programs and a commitment to developing players throughout a K-12 educational environment is strongly preferred.
