Type of Opportunity: Full time FTE: 0.90 Job Exempt: No Work Shift: Nights (United States of America)

Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Respiratory Medical Director, the Registered Respiratory Therapist provides cardiopulmonary diagnostic and respiratory therapeutic services for hospital patients and outpatients requiring diagnostic testing, respiratory treatments, and ventilatory support.

  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates respiratory care interventions based on patient needs and physician orders.

  • Administers respiratory therapies, medications, oxygen therapy, and airway management treatments in accordance with established protocols.

  • Monitors, manages, and troubleshoots ventilators, artificial airways, and other life-support equipment to ensure safe and effective patient care.

  • Performs cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures, including pulmonary function testing, arterial blood gas collection, and EKGs as applicable.

  • Collaborates with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams to support optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care.

  • Educates patients and families on respiratory conditions, treatment plans, equipment use, and home care instructions.

  • Documents patient assessments, treatments, responses, and clinical observations accurately in the medical record.

  • Maintains compliance with regulatory, safety, infection prevention, and departmental standards.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or certification as a Respiratory Therapy Technician / Registered Respiratory Therapist required.

  • Current New Mexico Respiratory Care Board licensure as a Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (LRCP) required.

  • Current American Heart Association CPR certification required.

  • ACLS certification preferred.

  • One to three years of respiratory care experience preferred.
