ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH SPECIALISTTRIBAL HEALTH DEPARTMENTVARIOUS LOCATIONS The successful applicant must possess a Bachelors degree in environmental health, public health, biology, chemistry, environmental science, occupational safety, or related field. Coursework must meet eligibility requirements for REHS/RS credentialing. Environmental Health degree accredited by EHAC preferred. Certification in Incident Command System (ICS) courses (ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800) or the ability to complete this within six months of hire. Must obtain and maintain CPR certification within three (3) months of hire. Must possess a valid drivers license and the ability to travel as required for inspections and investigations. Experience (Level I): Experience in environmental health, public health, inspections, or regulatory programs, preferred. Experience (Level II): Demonstrated experience in conducting independent inspections, investigating foodborne illness or environmental complaints, interpreting and applying federal, state, and tribal codes. Licensure (Level II): Current credential as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist/Registered Sanitarian (REHS/RS) through the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA). All applicants must submit a Tribal application, a copy of academic transcript/degree, certifications, copy of valid drivers license, if claiming Tribal preference, proof of enrollment from a federally recognized Tribe if other than CSKT, and if claiming veterans preference, a copy of the DD214 must be submitted. FAILURE TO SUBMIT ALL OF THE ABOVE INFORMATION WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION DURING THE SCREENING PROCESS. This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) within the definition of the CSKT Drug Testing policy and subject to random drug testing. The successful applicant, if not already employed by the Tribes must pass a pre-hire drug test and serve a mandatory six (6) month probationary period. Must pass a background and suitability check according to Public Law 101-630, the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act.
