What to Expect
Tesla is seeking a motivated and talented individual to join our Operations Control Center Team at Gigafactory Nevada to monitor and manage factory efficiency in real time. This person will be supporting Vehicle Production Planning organization with build plan execution and controlling the traffic of information and critical communications between inter-factory systems by monitoring throughput through different areas of Powertrain value stream to ensure that production output is being maximized. Their goal is to be proactive in preventing and addressing issues by collaborating with stakeholders and cross-functional support teams (i.e. Powertrain Leaders, Production Control, Planners, NPI, Logistics, etc.) in developing an effective action plan and facilitating quick recovery to minimize impact on overall performance.
What You'll Do
- Provide reliable support for Production Controllers and Planners, handling line reports and ad hoc requests while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams
- Review, execute, and ensure feasibility of short-term build plans to optimize factory output, analyzing factors like line capability and material availability
- Monitor material flow, identify production issues accurately, and propose solutions to address limiters and risks, maintaining production flow
- Participate in daily operational reviews to maintain awareness of factory health and address production issues promptly
- Act as an escalation point for factory issues, devising actionable plans without compromising safety or product quality
- Collaborate with sister teams and support NPI activities, sharing relevant information and assisting in planned new parts integration
- Manage information flow between Powertrain areas, demonstrate expertise in logistics and identify improvement opportunities within operational functions
What You'll Bring
- Proven ability to problem solve in Tesla production or PC including root cause analysis & resolution planning on material issues
- Understands production flow from start of production to the finished product
- Strong communication abilities. Feels comfortable speaking with senior shop leaders and in group forums
- Analytical and logical decision-making mindset
- Basic computer capabilities, including MS Excel required. SQL skills are a plus
- Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
