This position is for Parker Hannifin's Composite Sealing Systems Division, located in San Diego (Otay Mesa), California. The standard work hours are Monday through Friday from 10:30AM - 7PM; however, may be required work overtime based on business needs.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for maintenance activity through the implementation of a preventative maintenance program and an ongoing maintenance repair program for the facility.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintenance of machinery and procurement of necessary materials.

  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control problems and determine method of repair or replacement.

  • Inspect equipment to determine reasons for malfunction and take corrective action. Replace worn or broken parts. Disassemble, troubleshoot, clean/repair mechanical unit parts.

  • Work from blueprints, drawings, sketches, schematics and manufacturing specs.

  • Perform functional tests of installed, rebuilt, or repaired machines/equipment

  • Perform safety inspections related to guarding.

  • Support environmental and safety compliance per state and federal regulations.

  • Test, maintain and evaluate equipment performance using instruments such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, pyrometers and pressure gauges.

  • Check pumps, fans, valves and motors

  • Follows established safety and environmental policies, procedures and methods applicable to the work area.

  • Performs other duties as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years related maintenance experience.

Skills:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

  • Ability to write simple correspondence.

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interests, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trades involved.

  • Ability to work on a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity where analysis of the situation or data requires thorough identification of factors and analysis of impact

  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

  • Ability to read and understand bar graphs for department metrics.

  • Ability to work and train from verbal and written instructions.

  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds

  • Ability to use hands and fingers for detailed work over extended periods of time

Competitive Compensation

  • Pay Range: $23.25/hr to $35.5/hr
