This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at Towne Centre Drive and remote.

DESCRIPTION

The Program Manager, Outreach manages strategic outreach projects to advance the mission of the Jacobs Center for Health Innovation (JCHI) and the West Health Accelerator (WHA). Develops and implements integrated communications programs and events designed to enhance JCHI's and WHA's visibility, promote its mission, and foster ongoing dialogue with key stakeholders, partners, and audiences. Responsibilities include crafting and executing a comprehensive outreach strategy to effectively engage JCHI's community and drive the impact of JCHI's initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads JCHI's and WHA's outreach strategies designed to engage stakeholders and drive innovative programs' success
  • Consults with senior leadership to create, develop, and implement comprehensive long- and short-term strategic outreach plans and effective messaging
  • Tracks and analyzes performance of outreach strategies, projects, and initiatives
  • Provides expertise to senior leadership to position JCHI as a national and international leader in health innovation, and creates tools for positioning the organization strategically with clients, partners, and other key stakeholders
  • Coordinates the production of broad-based communication pieces in a variety of venues including written, visual, and electronic communications
  • Monitors JCHI's and WHA's email and social media accounts and track performance of these accounts
  • Consults with product teams to create communications strategies and content for product development and product launches
  • Oversees the production of symposia, conferences, and other events that JCHI and/or WHA sponsors
  • May serve as a team or project leader and may mentor less experienced staff and students
  • Develops and effectively manages outreach program budgets and tracks costs
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Nine (9) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus five (5) years of related experience/training. Related experience: Communications, web development, event planning, and marketing-specific experience.

  • Requires basic knowledge of project management principles, theories, and concepts.

  • Requires ability to assess campus, medical center or Office of the President needs for information technology products and design services to meet those needs.

  • Working knowledge of technology-related initiatives and an understanding of impact to the organization of such initiatives.

  • Demonstrated capacity to anticipate obstacles and plan for contingencies.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to determine relevance and prioritize tasks.

  • Demonstrated effective writing skills.

  • Demonstrated competency in selecting and implementing project management methods and techniques.

  • Broad knowledge of technology-related initiatives and an understanding of impact to the organization of such initiatives.

  • Proven leadership ability. Effective problem solving skills. Demonstrated ability to put forth persuasive arguments.

  • Effective skill at tracking effort and project progress. Demonstrated highly advanced organization and project management skills. Demonstrated strong conceptual and planning skills to analyze projects of broad and diverse scope. Understands the cost impact of projects, project tracking tools and metrics.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of an organization.

  • Experience leading a team of technology professionals.

  • Advanced knowledge of all aspects of computing and communications including hardware infrastructure, networking, software, operations and disaster recovery.

  • Demonstrated ability to integrate critical information across disciplines. Understands how projects relate to other business strategies and initiatives.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Background in journalism and/or corporate communications

  • Experience creating and managing the production of website content

  • Experience working in an academic medical center.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $108,100 - $204,900 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $51.77 - $98.13

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
