The New Accounts Analyst II role processes new account applications and account maintenance requests in accordance with bank policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and established service level agreements. Reviews account documentation, analyzes Customer Identification Program (CIP) and third-party verification results, and resolves processing exceptions to ensure accurate and compliant account servicing. Provides operational support to internal business partners and clients by supporting business online banking, Positive Pay, Remote Deposit Capture, and related deposit services.



Key Responsibilities

    Reviews new account documentation for completeness, accurately processes new account requests through the account opening system, and ensures timely completion in accordance with established service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Reviews and analyzes Customer Identification Program (CIP) results and other third-party verification data to determine account eligibility and render application decisions in accordance with bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Performs all account opening activities in compliance with applicable banking regulations, internal policies, operating procedures, and established risk management practices. Maintains current knowledge of regulatory requirements through ongoing training and professional development.
  • Performs maintenance activities, including closing, reopening, and modifying deposit accounts. Researches, identifies, and resolves system-generated exceptions and processing issues within established authority levels.
  • Identifies, researches, and escalates complex issues, exceptions, or items outside delegated authority to management for resolution. Monitors recurring trends, including incomplete or inaccurate application documentation, and recommends process improvements where appropriate.
  • Processes debit card requests, check orders, and other account-related service requests while ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
  • Assists in the development, review, maintenance, and enhancement of departmental procedures, job aids, and process documentation to support operational consistency, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with peers, management, Client Relationship Managers, and other internal business partners to resolve account-related issues, respond to inquiries, and communicate the status of outstanding requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Prepares, reviews, analyzes, and distributes operational reports related to production volumes, service levels, quality metrics, processing exceptions, and other departmental performance indicators.
  • Provides operational support to business line Client Relationship Managers and clients by assisting with the enrollment, maintenance, and servicing of electronic banking products, including online banking, Positive Pay, and related services.
  • Prioritizes daily workload to consistently meet established service level agreements while maintaining a high level of accuracy, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Performs quality assurance reviews of account opening activities by evaluating completed work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established policies and procedures. Documents findings and communicates results to management to support quality improvement initiatives.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve operational efficiency, customer service, and internal processes through collaboration, process improvement initiatives, and effective problem solving.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.


Qualification Requirements

  • High school diploma or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • 2 years of related banking and customer service experience.
  • Working knowledge of LexisNexis, Equifax, Chex Systems. Experience with IBS Insight or other FIS software.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Team player, able to work effectively in a team fostered, multi-tasking environment.
  • Must be able to work additional hours as needed to meet business demands.
