Senior Software Engineer 1, Picksy Services

Job Description

Picksy is our next-generation product discovery platform connecting shoppers with the things they love across thousands of retail partners. Users save, organize, and share products they're excited about - and our platform turns those signals into a deeply personalized shopping experience. This team owns the foundational product data, services, applications, and integrations that power the Picksy experience.

Remote or Hybrid 3x per week

In-office Expectations: This position offers remote work flexibility; however, if you reside within a commutable distance to one of our offices in New York, Des Moines, Los Angeles, Seattle, or Edmonton, the expectation is to work from the office three days per week.

As a Senior Software Engineer on Picksy Services, you'll take ownership of solution design and implementation for scalable, highly available services, while mentoring other engineers and helping shape the team's technical direction. You will:

  • Partner with engineers across data, web, and mobile experiences to build and evolve the foundational services powering Picksy.

  • Design and implement new services, APIs, and operational monitoring functions.

  • Own production services end-to-end - investigating issues, resolving bottlenecks, and proactively identifying opportunities to improve reliability and reduce cost.

  • Lead code reviews and mentor other engineers, setting the bar for code quality and advocating for best practices across the team.

  • Drive the identification and prioritization of technical debt.

  • Provide thorough, readable documentation for the services you own.
