Position Title:Cytologist - Day Shift
Department:Anatomic Pathology Lab
Job Description:

LOCATION/SHIFT: Downtown Oklahoma City (This position is required to support remote operations at Edmond Hospital, the downtown campus and weekly FNA clinic.) Days - 0730-1600 preferrably **These positions are available in levels 1,2,or 3 depending on experience, education, and licenses/certifications** General Description: Under immediate supervision, performs routine microscopic screening of Gyn and Non-Gyn specimen. Accurately results and electronically signs out Cytology reports. Assists in the collection of Fine Needle Aspirations specimens. Essential Responsibilities: Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position.
Minimum Qualifications (level 1): Education: Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology, Biology or a Life Science, and completing an accredited Cytotechnology program required. Experience: 0-3 years of experience required. Licensure/Certifications/Registrations Required: Eligible for registration as a Cytologist with the American Society of Clinical Pathologist (ASCP).Certification and/or Registration must be obtained within 9 months after employment required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association (AHA) required. Minimum Qualifications (level 2): Education: Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology, Biology or a Life Science and completing an accredited Cytotechnology program required. Experience: 3-5 years of experience required. Minimum Qualifications (level 3): Education: Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology, Biology or a Life Science and completing an accredited Cytotechnology program required. Experience: 5 or more years of experience required. License/Certification/Registration Requirements: CT (ASCP) and current Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association (AHA) required.
