The Custodial Project Manager plans, manages and coordinates custodial activities of multiple custodial teams to ensure compliance with quality cleaning standards and all University and departmental policies and procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manage Custodial Area Supervisors and their teams.
  • Communicate with customers and staff to ensure service needs are met and cleaning standards are achieved.
  • Confer with and advise staff, students, and other stakeholders by providing technical advice, problem-solving assistance, goal completion support and policy interpretation.
  • Provide coaching, training and team building opportunities to staff to enhance their career development and workplace safety.
  • Oversee recruitment, hiring, and promotions including chairing hiring selection committees.
  • Coordinate custodial service requests, schedules for custodial activities, major projects, and special events to meet customer needs while maintaining balanced workloads of multiple teams.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with staff, customers and the University community.
  • Prepare proposals and manage budgets to ensure that the required supplies and equipment are available to staff to meet quality cleaning standards.
  • Prepare periodic and special reports for management on custodial activities, safety, budget, goals, etc.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form with different groups and individuals.
  • Ability to use computer applications, including word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Strong knowledge in program and project management oversight.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of individuals involved in facilities management.
  • Ability to work closely with all stakeholders, with a high level of commitment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to lead and supervise others.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
Preferred Qualifications

  • REA or CEH certification
  • APPA Training
  • IICRC Certification

Notice of Availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.Thesereports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
