Aviation Dimensional Inspection Technician

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
The Aviation Dimensional Inspection Technician is responsible for inspecting, packaging, and preserving aircraft engine parts and assemblies to ensure they meet strict aviation standards. Performs precise dimensional and visual inspections using specialized tools and evaluates component condition in accordance with approved manuals.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Examine visually and dimensionally using micrometers to detect physical defects in accordance with applicable manual specifications.
Maintain proper use and care of assigned tools and equipment.
Adhere to all safety protocols.
Check parts against manuals and engine overhaul specifications.
Record precise dimensional data on inspection sheets as instructed.
Work closely with the lead inspector and other team members to ensure established standards are met.
Acquires job skills and learns company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks.
Works on assignments that are routine in nature requiring limited judgment. Problems encountered will typically be well defined, repetitive, and routine with readily available solutions.
Normally receives detailed instructions on all work.
Works under close supervision.
Supports the achievement of goals through personal effort in own work area.
Performs other tasks, as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Ability to read, write and speak proficient English.
Familiar with inspection tools/gauges/micrometers as well as geometric tolerance
Working knowledge and/or skill in word processing, spread sheets and other computer applications including Outlook.
Demonstrate a cooperative relationship to interface between mechanics and test cell operators.
Possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the assigned duties, including computer skills.
Maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by company and government requirements.
Communicate and interact effectively with peers, supervisors, and the public, including maintaining respect for others, and following company policies.
Have a willingness and ability to learn and utilize company technology for company required purposes, including, for example training, reviewing, and signing policies and procedures, benefits enrollment, and changes, and more.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Manufacturing/Shop Floor/Shared Workbench environment.
Work Schedule: 4/10 shift.
Ability to work in hot temperature environment.
Ability to tolerate constant noise, such as, machine motors and large fans.
Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time, and occasional walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, etc.
Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, mouse, phones).
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
