Role Overview
VersAbility Resources is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable General Clerk III to provide advanced administrative and clerical support for our Military Sealift Command (MSC) Government Contract in San Diego, California.
In this role, you will perform administrative, records management, data entry, and customer service functions while applying established procedures and sound judgment to complete assignments accurately and independently. You may also provide day-to-day guidance to lower-level clerks and will work closely with government personnel and other stakeholders to support contract operations.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable managing detailed records and multiple priorities, and able to exercise good judgment while maintaining confidentiality and delivering professional customer service.
What You'll Do
*Perform advanced clerical and administrative duties supporting the MSC Government Contract.
*Maintain financial, administrative, statistical, and other records in electronic and manual filing systems.
*Review reports, records, and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
*Perform data entry and maintain organized, accurate files and records.
*Apply established procedures and determine appropriate methods for completing assignments.
*Identify issues that cannot be resolved through established procedures and escalate them appropriately.
*Compile and organize information for reports, records, and administrative activities.
*Respond to routine inquiries and provide professional customer service.
*Provide day-to-day work direction and guidance to lower-level clerks when assigned.
*Utilize Microsoft Office, databases, electronic filing systems, and other office technology.
*Maintain confidentiality and comply with government security protocols and contract requirements.
*Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
*High school diploma or equivalent required.
*Minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible clerical, administrative, records management, data entry, or related office experience required.
*Ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret security clearance.
*Strong knowledge of administrative procedures, records management, filing, and data entry practices.
*Strong attention to detail, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
*Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
*Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
*Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive or restricted information.
*Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, standard office technology, databases, and electronic filing systems.
*Reliable transportation to and from the assigned work location is required.

Compensation Notice:
Compensation for this position is established by the applicable government contract and/or wage determination. The posted pay reflects the fixed rate authorized for this position and is not subject to negotiation except where permitted by applicable law or contract requirements.
In addition to the applicable hourly wage, this position is eligible for a Health and Welfare benefit of $5.09 per hour, provided in accordance with the applicable government contract and benefit requirements.

Schedule
This is a full-time, on-site position in San Diego, California, scheduled Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Occasional flexibility may be required based on operational needs, contract requirements, deadlines, or other business needs.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This position operates in a structured administrative office environment supporting a government contract. Daily work includes frequent computer use, data entry, records management, filing, telephone and electronic communication, and interaction with government personnel, employees, customers, and other stakeholders.
The position requires prolonged periods of sitting and computer work, occasional standing and walking, and occasional bending, stooping, reaching, and crouching to access files, storage areas, and office materials. Employees may be required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 20 pounds.
San Diego work locations have an office located on the second floor of the building. Candidates must be able to navigate stairs as necessary to access the assigned work area, with or without reasonable accommodation.
