What You'll Do:
  • Develop and support additive manufacturing processes, including 3D printing, rapid prototyping, direct digital manufacturing (DDM), and additive fabrication technologies.
  • Evaluate material-process-design relationships to improve manufacturability, product performance, and process reliability.
  • Create and modify 3D models using CAD, solid modeling, and computer-aided engineering tools.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements to support product development activities.
  • Troubleshoot material, process, and component issues, including porosity, defects, and manufacturing inconsistencies.
  • Develop test methods, inspection procedures, and failure analysis techniques for additive manufacturing applications.
  • Research and evaluate new additive manufacturing technologies, materials, and processes.
  • Create work instructions and support training efforts for technicians and manufacturing personnel.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing equipment reliability and manufacturing efficiency.
Job Requirements
What You'll Bring:
  • 2+ years of experience in additive manufacturing, hardware design, manufacturing engineering, mechanical design, product development, or related technical environments.
  • 2+ years of experience using CAD, solid modeling, or computer-aided engineering software for product or process development.
  • 2+ years of experience supporting 3D printing, rapid prototyping, additive manufacturing, or advanced manufacturing technologies.
  • 2+ years of experience interpreting engineering drawings, product specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
  • 1+ years of experience performing engineering testing, inspection, validation, or failure analysis activities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred.
What Sets You Apart:
  • Experience with additive manufacturing technologies such as:
    • 3D Printing
    • Direct Digital Manufacturing (DDM)
    • Rapid Prototyping (RP)
    • Layered Manufacturing
  • Knowledge of material behavior, process optimization, and material-process-design interactions.
  • Experience investigating manufacturing defects, porosity issues, and material performance concerns.
  • Familiarity with CAE tools, simulation software, and engineering analysis methods.
  • Experience creating manufacturing work instructions and process documentation.
  • Experience supporting technician training and manufacturing process implementation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a structured engineering approach.
  • Strong understanding of inspection methods, root cause analysis, and quality improvement practices.
  • Experience researching and deploying emerging manufacturing technologies.
