General Responsibilities:

As the Department Manager II, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the success of Terracon's geophysics division. Your primary responsibility will be to manage and guide the Group and Department Managers, ensuring a cohesive and productive work environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead a talented team, drive strategic initiatives, and contribute to the overall growth of the organization.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Manage and mentor Group and Department Managers, providing leadership and support for effective team management.
  • Oversee project planning and execution, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the geophysics division's performance and market presence.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation, encouraging professional growth within the team.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, maintaining Terracon's reputation for excellence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align efforts and achieve organizational goals and objectives.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and mentor team members for growth.
  • Identify training needs and facilitate professional development opportunities to enhance skills.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements, keeping the team at the forefront of geophysics technology.
  • Represent Terracon at industry events, building relationships, and networking to expand our reach.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Geophysics, Engineering, or a related field, with a strong academic background.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in geophysics, demonstrating a proven track record of leadership and success.
  • In-depth knowledge of geophysical principles and techniques, with the ability to apply them effectively.
  • Exceptional project management skills, with a proven ability to lead and deliver complex projects.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating effective collaboration and teamwork.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools used in geophysics, staying updated with the latest advancements.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities, able to identify and address challenges proactively.
  • Willingness to travel for project management and client engagement, as required by the role.
  • Valid professional license or actively working towards one, demonstrating a commitment to professional growth.
