The Manager Financial Planning & Analysis and Investor Relations Analyst will play a central role in financial, industry, geographic, and peer analysis that supports the Company's long-term strategy. The successful candidate will deliver informed insights, evaluate strategic initiatives, monitor internal and external performance, and support high-impact decision-making for senior leaders at the business unit and enterprise levels. - Lead the development, refinement, and oversight of complex financial models used for long-range planning, capital allocation, forecasting, and enterprise-wide strategic initiatives.
- Lead analysis business unit and corporate performance, including return on capital, operational and financial trends, and performance relative to industry peers.
- Develop and oversee forecasting models that evaluate global oil and gas supply and demand, commodity and macroeconomic trends, geopolitical developments, and their implications for oilfield services.
- Provide forward-looking financial insights to inform corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, capital investments, portfolio decisions, and operational priorities.
- Support the strategic planning process in partnership with business unit leaders and cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment between financial forecasts, operating assumptions, and business plans.
- Prepare and oversee accurate, concise, and executive-ready materials for the Board of Directors, Executive Leadership Team, investors, analysts, and other key stakeholders.
- Perform and oversee the development scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis to evaluate the financial impact of market shifts, regulatory changes, capital allocation alternatives, and strategic opportunities.
- Partner with Investor Relations, Treasury, Corporate Development, Accounting, business-unit finance teams, and other functional areas to ensure consistency and accuracy in financial analysis, external messaging, and corporate strategy.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor and peer performance, geographic markets, commodity indicators, and other relevant data to identify risks, opportunities, and emerging business implications.
- Enhance financial planning and analysis capabilities through advanced analytics, automation, digital tools, and process improvements while ensuring compliance with corporate governance standards, Company policies, and Patterson-UTI's values.

Job Requirements:
- Ability to maintain Company and employee confidentiality and appropriately protect sensitive, confidential, and proprietary information.
- Advanced analytical and financial modeling skills with the ability to evaluate complex data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights.
- Strong understanding of capital markets, corporate finance, financial statements, valuation concepts, and performance measurement.
- Ability to translate complex financial, operational, industry, and macroeconomic information into clear business insights and strategic recommendations.
- Strong verbal, written, presentation, and financial storytelling skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with financial modeling, data visualization, automation, AI platforms, and predictive analytics tools is preferred.
- Experience with enterprise resource planning and financial planning systems, including SAP, OneStream, or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and familiarity with SEC reporting requirements; knowledge of IFRS is preferred.
- Understanding of the oil and gas industry, including commodity cycles, supply and demand fundamentals, geographic markets, supply-chain economics, and factors affecting oilfield services demand and pricing.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet time-sensitive deadlines, maintain attention to detail, and work effectively in a fast-paced, highly visible environment.
- Ability to collaborate across functions and organizational levels while exercising sound judgment, initiative, and professional discretion.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain a calm and professional demeanor when facing ambiguity or tight deadlines.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, investor relations, corporate finance, capital markets, strategic finance, or corporate development.
- 3+ years of demonstrated experience in financial modeling, forecasting, variance analysis, industry analysis, and the preparation of executive-level presentations.
- 5+ years of experience analyzing capital allocation decisions, return on investment, business performance, and peer-company results.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master of Business Administration with a focus in Finance, Strategy, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Experience within the oilfield services, energy, industrial, or other capital-intensive industry.
- Experience supporting investor relations, earnings materials, Board presentations, or external financial communications.
- Experience with mergers and acquisitions, including valuation modeling, due diligence, synergy analysis, and integration planning.
- Experience with SAP, OneStream, or similar enterprise planning and reporting systems.
Experience using advanced analytics, automation, AI platforms, predictive analytics, or data visualization tools.
Additional Details: This position requires the ability to perform in a time-sensitive, highly visible role while maintaining accuracy, sound judgment, and a calm and professional demeanor. Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled office environment with minimal safety or health-hazard potential. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, or walk and frequently uses a computer, telephone, and other office equipment. Occasional travel and work outside normal business hours may be required to support earnings activities, Board meetings, strategic planning, or other business priorities.
