Federal Strategic Management Consultant - Sr. Associate

Job Summary:
Lafayette Group is seeking qualified and team-oriented individuals to work with federal government organizations in support of national cybersecurity programs. The Program Manager supports and works directly with Front Office and Federal Task Leads to improve business and functional processes to better meet strategic objectives and optimize the ways of working to include effective communication, adherence to governance mechanisms, and use of technology to manage work activities.


Daily tasks may include business process improvement support, developing, and presenting project briefings, managing project status and milestone tracking, coordinating with customers receiving services, developing standard operating plans (SOPs) and process documentation and conducting stakeholder engagement, and strategic analyses.

The ideal candidate for this role is an experienced, collaborative team member with expertise working and supporting inter-agency functional and business units with an innate curiosity to learn, look around corners, and possess the drive to excel with a team of like-minded colleagues in a high-profile, fast paced environment.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders; demonstrate that their needs are heard and understood, and their feedback valued.
  • Design business strategies to cultivate effective information sharing, leveraging tools and automations to improve workflows and expedite information flow.
  • Collect and analyze data and user feedback regarding the effectiveness and reach of business tools and strategies; continuously refine tactics and approach.
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative research and analysis in support of projects to identify key themes and trends.
  • Develops and delivers high-quality products that meet client requirements on schedule and within budget.
  • Support client engagement and support, including preparing for and leading meetings, facilitating planning and data gathering sessions, and developing recommendations for plans, documents, and reports to support client needs.
  • Ensure the development of high-quality written work products within and across areas of responsibility, including strategic plans, assessments and reports, presentations, talking points, fact sheets, and white papers.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement business process improvements to streamline and standardize business activities
  • Provide daily program and operations support by coordinating tasks, documenting issues and action items, supporting meetings, and developing program briefs and talking points
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years' experience in management consulting, preferably with cybersecurity, cyber defense, and/or homeland security projects
  • Demonstrated track record supporting/leading project teams in a dynamic environment to meet deadlines, adhere to project plans, and successfully execute multiple efforts simultaneously
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills; diplomatic and an excellent listener
  • Possession of excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to remain open-minded, flexible and curious in problem-solving approach
  • Ability to think conceptually and strategically and learn quickly
  • Ability to build relationships and network effectively with all levels of staff, including senior leadership, both internal and on the client site
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Desired Qualifications:
  • Master's degree
  • Certified Project Management Professional
  • Experience implementing AI (e.g., ChatGPT, Perplexity.ai) into workflows
  • Existing TS-SCI or Secret clearance or DHS Suitability
Location: Hybrid: Arlington, VA
Desired Start Date: 9/28/2026 (or earlier, if possible)
Salary Range: $72K - $85K

New employees are not usually hired at the top of the estimated salary range and salary decisions depend on the circumstances and factors for each case. Salary is only one aspect of LGI's generous total compensation package.


Federal Contracts: This position involves working on federal contracts that require all workers on the contract to be U.S. Citizens. Additionally, some contracts may require the ability to obtain a security clearance.
