Requisition ID req37812 Working Title Unit Administrator 3 Position Grade 13 Position Summary The University of New Mexico Maxwell Museum of Anthropology (MMA) seeks to hire a Unit Administrator 3 to oversee and support day-to-day administrative activities of a complex, multi-faceted, University museum. We seek an experienced, forward-thinking, collegial, administrative professional understandings of the fullness of human experiences in the Southwest and the world," and vision of "restoring voices, reconciling injustices and realizing community." With a staff of 19 full-time employees, plus interns, student employees and volunteers, the UNM Maxwell Museum of Anthropology is dedicated to research, education, and public engagement through exhibitions, educational and public programs, collection curation and research, and community collaboration. The successful candidate will lead the Museum's administrative staff and will join a dedicated team of museum professionals in collections, archives, exhibitions, education, and public programs. Position Description Working under the indirect supervision of, and in close collaboration with, the Museum Director, the Unit Administrator plays a critical role in Museum management and oversight. Oversee all internal and external business activities, accounting and finance and/or contract/grant administration, and human resources. Manages and coordinates facility and resource management, information services, and general department administration. Participates with the Director and museum staff in strategic and operational decision making. Conditions of Employment Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED; at least 2 years of experience managing at least one of the following functional areas: fiscal services, administration and/or human resources AND 3 years of additional experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Preferred Qualifications
