Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel
The Omni Ft. Lauderdale Hotel is a 29-story hotel, located at 1950 Eisenhower Blvd, and connected directly to the Broward County Convention. The property offers 801 guest rooms and suites, multiple restaurants, a vibrant rooftop bar, a sprawling pool, spa, and fitness center. The hotel has over 120,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, including a grand ballroom, junior ballroom, 25 breakout rooms and pre-function meeting space with waterfront views. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS * Perform all Banquet side work as designated by the Banquet Captain and/or Banquet Managers. * Efficiently and properly perform all service standards. * Attend to all needs of the guests during functions and function related duties. * Report to Banquet Manager any need for housekeeping and/or repairs of and banquet equipment. * Assist in the upkeep and organization of all liquor liability laws. * Must be familiar with and adhere to all liquor liability laws. * Must attend all designated pre-meal meetings. * Must follow all details as described on Banquet Event Orders (BEO's). * Must be able to set tables to specifications, carry trays, and have excellent customer service experience. QUALIFICATIONS: EXTERNAL CANDIDATES * Fluency in English * Minimum of 2 years of banquet serving experience * Experience with coffee breaks, buffet setup, and bartending * Previous experience in a large convention or full-service hotel environment * Must have the ability to work a variety of shifts based on business needs, including AM/PM shifts, weekends, and holidays INTERNAL CANDIDATES * Fluency in English * Must meet one of the following experience requirements: Minimum of 2 years of banquet, restaurant, or comparable food & beverage service experience, OR Have worked a minimum of 10 Banquet shifts at the hotel since opening * Experience working in a large convention or full-service hotel environment * Must have the ability to work a variety of shifts based on business needs, including AM/PM shifts, weekends, and holidays ENVIRONMENT & POSITION ANALYSIS: * Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. * Stand, walk or sit for an extended period or for an entire work shift. * Must be able to carry a banquet tray, filled to capacity, overhead and/or on shoulder. TOOLS & EQUIPMENT: * Coffee maker/urn, toaster, microwave, beverage machines, bus trays, dishware, silverware, glassware and queen-mary cart.
