Unit/Role Info:

Clinical Informatics

The Clinical Informatics Analyst works collaboratively with all HCMC end users of clinical information systems and applications. Provides assistance in planning and implementing new information technology (IT) for clinical departments. Largely responsible for training of electronic medical record clinical applications, and ongoing support of clinical IT as well as all levels of end users. Utilizes knowledge and skills of clinical (nursing and/or non-nursing) practice to determine those clinical processes which are suitable for IT and automation and ensures that implemented clinical IT is consistent with professional standards of clinical practice. Analyzes current and future end user department requirements, procedures, and workflow, in order to provide clinical IT solutions that support and improve organization, division, and/or department operations. Develops and maintains a positive working relationship with end user departments to ensure optimal utilization of the Hospital's clinical systems and applications, while providing appropriate levels of end user training and education.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse by the State of Maryland or licensure in a compact state that allows practice in Maryland isrequired.
  • Certification in nursing informatics preferred. If not current upon hire, must obtain within two years of employment.
  • A Bachelor's degree is required with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in Clinical Informatics, OR Bachelor's degree with two (2) years of experience with a certification in Nursing Informatics.
  • Because the majority of the Hospital's clinical systems and applications directly impact nursing staff and processes, preference will be given to a Registered Nurse who meets the education and experience requirements.

Salary Range: Minimum $43.61/hour - Maximum $67.59/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
