Janitor

LOCATION: Apache Junction Corps

STATUS: On Call - 10 hrs/wk

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
• Must be a service minded team player with the ability to work independently and show initiative
• Required to successful pass a criminal background check
• Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs
• Understand and carry out instructions related to the use of equipment and cleaning products and the safe use
• Ability to work within established policy guidelines and accept directions and follow instruction

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain a cleaning schedule to ensure common use spaces - restrooms, offices, kitchen, fellowship hall, chapel, hard surfaces - are cleaned, sanitized, and ready for program use
• Monthly cleaning and maintenance of floor bases, windows and sills, light fixtures, vents, etc.
• Maintain inventory of supply closet
• Routinely change liners on trash receptacles
• Break down of extra boxes as deemed necessary
• Clean off / organize patio each week
• Pick up trash around exterior of buildings as needed
• Set up and break down for meetings
• Coordinate with Social Service Admin Assistant for seasonal cleaning
• Additional duties during the holidays as assigned
• Other duties as assigned to assist in the function of the organization

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms on a continuous basis. The employee must regularly lift and/or move 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer and to understand written information.
